Corey Gray:Artist. Technologist. Engineer.

Born in Adelaide, Australia, 1972, Corey Gray spent his founding years in South Australia. Gray fostered his career in art after gaining a passion for colour and light through his studies of the arts and astronomy at Adelaide University in the early 90s.

Inspired by his visits to great galleries of Italy, France and Holland in the mid-90s Corey subsequently studied illumination, in Australia and Italy, as well as architecture and technology engineering that saw him become a professional artist, lighting designer and technology engineer.

His unusual career saw him build an international practice, LVX. which works on a diverse portfolio of project types including art, public art, gallery curation, architecture, private collections and the convergence of technology and art.

Corey is sought out by other artists for collaboration due to his creative and intriguing flare, and has a reputation for his daring public art, in which considerations of public safety, technical delivery, vandalism, serviceability and durability come together to bring public spaces to life.

Now residing in in his home town Adelaide with his wife and 6 children Corey gas practices in Los Angeles, Dublin, Colombo and now Germany.

His latest global project, Eschaton, (meaning “End of Days”), was prophetically and befittingly named before the catastrophes of 2020, continues to change it shape in the face of bushfires and a global pandemic.

Corey’s other exhibitions include “2nd Millennium Rock Stars” in 2016, “Seasons” in 2017 and “Apokalypsis” in 2018 in collaboration with photographer, Peter Hall. Corey also was awarded the Elected Members’ Prize in the City of Unley Art Prize in 2019 for his commissioned work, “Blue Boys”.
