As a kid growing up nearby, I always knew of Carrick Hill, but at that time it was still a private residence.
For my family and I, returning to live nearby in 2010, we found by happenstance a beautiful oasis of art, architecture, gardens, views, food and wine of a genuinely world class nature. To be able to take a short stroll, perch on the deck looking out over the city, have a glass of wine and simply think is for me another great place for introspection and revelation.
This work describes the intricacies of Carrick Hill Estate and her meaning to my family, and with a little whimsy, what it would look like if my kids ever took over for a weekend…
